Outreach Activities

Summer Engineering Exploration (SEE) Camp

ACE-MRL members Ravi Ranade, Lena Soler Ayoroa, Daniel Soltan and Motohiro Ohno hosted a lab tour for high school students on June 27th, 2013. Ravi Ranade conducted a material testing demonstration in the ACE-MRL laboratory for the camp participants.

Science Society visit from Bates Elementary Bridge Program

ACE-MRL member Ravi Ranade conducted a lab tour and laboratory demonstration for the Science Society consisting of school students of Bates Elementary Bridge Program on June 25th, 2013.

Girls in Science and Engineering (GISE) @ UM:Summer Day Camp

ACE-MRL members Devki Desai and Emily Herbert are working with a team of around 10 engineering students to retrofit a historic Ann Arbor home to achieve the water petal of the Living Building Challenge. By designing a rainwater catchment, storage and purification system as well as considering permeable pavement and bioswales, the group hopes to create an integrated, sustainable site-house water management system.
