Undergraduate Research Assistant Position Available

    ACE-MRL offers a research assistant opportunity for the undergraduate student for this summer. The research topic will focus on the environmental impact assessment of ECC for waste utilization and carbon sequestration. Due to the COVID-19, the research program will be conducted remotely and will be based on literature survey, and data collection and analysis.

A RILEM State of the Art Report “Durability of Strain-Hardening Fibre-Reinforced Cement-Based Composites (SHCC)” was recently published. The book was edited by the co-chairs of the Subcommittee 2 of RILEM TC-HFC which was chaired by Professor Victor Li.

Prof. Li to give keynote address at Intl Conf on Future of Concrete

Prof Victor Li will deliver a keynote address at the International Conference on Future Concrete, Qatar, Doha, Nov 1-3, 2010. The lecture will focus on the use of non-brittle ECC material to delay chloride penetration into infrastructure in coastal regions, and the resulting service life enhancement.

Dr. Karthik Obla honored by the American Concrete Institute (ACI)

 

Dr. Karthik Obla, a former member of the ACE-MRL, has been honored by the American Concrete Institute (ACI) with a Young Member Award for Professional Achievement. 

Dr. Obla graduated with a PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of Michigan in 1997. For more, please click here

ECC goes to DC

 

Professor Victor Li and graduate student Ravi Ranade were invited to Washington DC to participate in the Coalition for National Science Funding (CNSF) 15th Annual Exhibition and Reception on March 24, 2009. 

They met with a number of senators, congressmen, and their staff, as well as the director of the National Science Foundation, to discuss Engineered Cementitious Composite and its social, environmental, and economic impacts on the nation in general and on Michigan in particular.
